Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mum was an excellent amateur opera singer, and I had piano lessons from the age of 7. As a child I listened to a wide range of music, from classical to heavy metal, and enjoyed most genres. (perhaps jazz was one I never quite got, but I always loved blues and rock’n’roll).

By 16 years old I had reached Grade 6 piano, and then began playing the guitar and writing my own songs. I was fortunate to have a friend and colleague called Andy Summers who had his own recording studio, and in 1996 I recorded a cassette of my songs.

As I wrote more songs and computer-based home studio recording became more affordable, I began recording, mixing and mastering songs myself. These include CDs recorded in Blackpool schools in which I have worked. See album covers here, and lyrics are available to view or download on this page.

This collection of songs is the result of many people asking me if I would put together some of my songs on one CD. It was difficult trying to decide which songs to include and which to leave out, but I hope you enjoy the collection.

Most of these songs have been used in schools, churches and other settings across the UK. I have digitally re-mastered the songs on this album in my home studio, giving them a richer, fuller sound than their original versions.
